Nature’s Birdhouse was inspired by water droplets and their effect on hitting a surface of water. The strong horizontals are juxtaposed with strong verticals, giving the organic form a sense of strength and stability. The final design was spun on a lathe out of wood, and then thermoformed with two sheets of styrene. Nature’s Birdhouse received First Place at the Blobject’s Exhibit Competition hosted by the San Jose Museum of Art.
