water filtering pitcher
The water filtration pitcher is made up of four parts:

a.) Activated Charcoal Filter: bought locally from YIWU Import and Export Inc.
b.) Clay Filtration Pot: made by locals using local clay with guidance from Potter’s for Peace, an NGO specializing in helping underdeveloped regions develop clay filters.
c.) Clay Pitcher: made by locals using local materials. This pot can be glazed and fired in a kiln to become completely waterproof, or without being glazed and fired the pitcher becomes permeable so that during the hot summer months the water inside can evaporate through the pitcher making the water inside always cold.
d.) Netting: made by locals using local textiles. Netting makes it easy to carry and is a support, holding the clay filtration pot inside the pitcher. Untitled Document
